Galvalume Steel Coils and Sheets

Galvalume steel is widely used in applications that demand high corrosion resistance and longevity:

  • Roofing and Siding: Particularly in industrial, commercial, and residential buildings.
  • Architectural Panels: Used for both structural and aesthetic purposes in buildings.
  • Agricultural Equipment and Buildings: Such as barns, storage, and grain silos where durability is important.
  • Automotive Parts: In components that require corrosion resistance and durability.
  • HVAC: For ductwork and other components due to its excellent resistance to corrosion.

Galvalume steel’s blend of protective properties makes it highly effective for use in harsh environments and applications requiring long-term durability. It is particularly valued in the construction industry for roofing and wall panels due to its protective qualities and longevity.

Corrosion Resistance: Galvalume steel offers outstanding corrosion resistance, particularly against atmospheric corrosion. The aluminum and zinc in the coating provide a double protection mechanism. The aluminum provides a tough physical barrier, while the zinc provides sacrificial protection.

Thermal Reflectivity: The coating has high reflectivity, making it efficient in reflecting sunlight and heat, which helps in reducing cooling costs in buildings.

Longevity: The lifespan of Galvalume steel is exceptionally long, especially in non-corrosive environments. It generally outlasts standard galvanized coatings under similar conditions.

Aesthetics: Galvalume steel has a distinctive smooth, spangled appearance which can be quite attractive without painting.

Galvalume steel is a type of coated steel that has a protective coating made from an alloy of  aluminum (55%), zinc (43.5%), and a small amount of silicon (1.5%). This coating is applied to the steel substrate using a continuous hot-dip process, similar to the way traditional galvanized steel is made but with a different composition that provides several unique properties and advantages.
