Founded in West Michigan

Hascall Steel started with a semi-truck parked in a Forest Hills driveway. In 1971, Wayne Hascall, along with his wife and sons, ran the company out of their house. Wayne and his sons, Karl and Dag, rented machinery in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to process steel for a handful of local customers. Thanks to their fair prices and quick lead times, word spread, and the company grew.

In 1984, Dag’s roommate had a listing for an industrial crane warehouse that caught his eye. Hascall turned that Grandville plant into our headquarters and never looked back. From there, we expanded, filling the plant with slitters and levelers and eventually growing to multiple locations across the Midwest.

Today, we continue to evolve to meet our customers’ needs and proudly support American manufacturing. And now, as Paul Harvey would say, “you know the rest of the story.”
