Our galvanneal steel is perfect for automotive, construction, and industrial applications, providing excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. Our expert team ensures you get the right galvanneal steel at competitive prices.

The electrogalvanizing process involves placing the steel in an electrolyte solution containing zinc salts and applying an electric current. The zinc ions in the solution are electrically reduced and deposited onto the steel’s surface, forming a thin, uniform layer of zinc. This process allows for the coating to be finely controlled, typically much thinner than the coating applied through the hot-dip galvanizing process.
Electrogalvanized steel is used in various applications where corrosion resistance is essential, and a good surface finish is desirable. Common uses include:
- Automotive Parts: For components that require good corrosion resistance and an excellent paintable surface.
- Appliances: Particularly in the casings of appliances like refrigerators, washers, and dryers where aesthetics and rust prevention are important.
- Electronic Equipment: Used in the manufacturing of cabinets, cases, and enclosures for electronic devices due to its corrosion resistance and aesthetic appeal.
- Building Materials: In ductwork and interior panels that require corrosion resistance without the bulk of thicker coatings.
- Furniture: In shelving, office furniture, and other interior uses where a smooth and attractive finish is required.
- Aesthetic Quality: The process produces a very smooth and bright finish that is aesthetically pleasing and ideal for painting or further finishing.
- Uniform Coating: Electro galvanizing provides a highly controlled, uniform zinc coating, which enhances corrosion resistance.
- Precision Coating Thickness: The thickness of the zinc coating can be precisely controlled, allowing for specific performance characteristics tailored to the application’s needs.
Despite its advantages, it’s worth noting that the zinc layer applied through electro galvanizing is generally thinner than that applied through hot-dip galvanizing, making it less suitable for outdoor applications where thicker, more robust protection against harsh environmental conditions is required. However, for indoor applications, electrogalvanized steel offers an excellent balance of protection, appearance, and cost.
